MY STORY
Meet Ashley from Lunar View Farm
Hey, thank you for stopping by!
Lunar View Farms is the place to help you make connections to your food, to the way it is grown, stored, and cooked, by providing gardening tips, home-cooked recipes, ideas for simple natural living and a homemade home.
I want to help bring the good food back into your meals, by cutting out the processed food, limiting sugar and bringing more plant diversity into your diet. All while simplicity your home by providing easy-to-follow recipes to save time, giving you back those little enjoyments in the day.
Come and learn along side me. I invite you to join one of my in-person workshops on food preservation or fermentation.
If you love cooking, baking, fermenting, food preservation, hobby farming, sending cards and decorating your home with beautiful items, you’ll feel right at home here.
A Little Bit More About Me….
After finishing my bachelor’s degree in fine art and anthropology at Binghamton University, I worked for a traveling archaeology firm (I wanted to be an archaeologist since I was very little). Shortly afterwards, I received a job offer, moved to the Hudson Valley and started working in the museum field and I even wrote a few books! I grew up on a dairy farm in Western, New York with four sisters. How does that saying go (I had to look it up)… “once a farmer always a farmer,” and that is just it, this farmer girl still has farm life in her heart. I blogged over at FarmHouse Magazine back in 2013 with a few of my awesome gal pals…after having children things got busier and I took a rest from blogging and starting taking more classes. I received my Master Food Preservation certificate in 2018 and since then have enjoyed learning about fermentation, recipe development, gut health and so much more. Now I am ready to share and connect with you!
Why the name “Lunar View”? It has to do with feeling connected by the moon to the ones we love who are spread all around. The moon is one of the only things we can each be looking at in different areas at the same time, and those connections are everything! I hope tonight you will look up at your lunar view, take a deep breath and remember the little things: the littlest connections, tangy little tomatoes, tender little feet of a baby, little fuzzy chicks of spring, little bubbles burbling (from your sourdough), little delicate star snowflakes, and any little (fill in your own here) that brings joy to your heart!
